Word is the Miami Heat has an interest in Texas A&M point guard Acie Law, but it's iffy whether he will be available when it picks 20th in the June 28 draft. Also projected in that range: Georgia Tech point guard Javaris Crittenton.

Law should go ahead of Conley because he can contribute right away. And I don't wanna hear about 'Well, he's a senior, and Conley's a freshman'. Conley chose to go pro, so he will be judged along with the class of 2007! If teams allow Law to get to 20 to Miami, they are allowing the backcourt of the future! Law is ready now, and Wade is a stud! This stuff is the reason NBA GM's are the worst GM's in all of sports!!!

May 21, 2007  11:27 AM ET

yes and this is why your an idiot.....you can't always go by how old a guy is to decide if hes ready for the NBA...do you know how many times big stud seniors become NBA flops....so thats why you cant just go by how old he is. you go by the talent level the guy has, and im sry but conleys talent level is high than laws...thats not to say law wont be a good nba player, but were looking at who is better now, and conley is better now...whats next you gonna tell me that Ekene Ibekwe is a better pick than oden bc hes a senior?

May 21, 2007  11:59 AM ET

oh and he wont drop to the heat, your out of ur mind, hell go no farther than the detroit pistons at 15.

May 21, 2007  12:02 PM ET

First of all, you can leave the idiot part out of it...this is the opinion of people concerning Acie Law's status..so call up your local talk show host with that crap! But if you want to go there, we can discuss your reading comprehension. MY ENTIRE PREMISE WAS THAT IT'S THE CLASS OF 2007...DRAFT CLASS OF 2007...NOT GRADUATING CLASS OF 2007!!! It is my opinion Law is ready now and will be better in the future. He has a better jumper, an NBA-ready body and is crafty to get to where he wants to go. This is not to say Conley doesn't have those things (except the consistent jumper), but I like Law to make more happen now and in the future. Conley is quicker, but everyone has a quickness to there game in the NBA. Law simply has more to go to. I respect your opinion that Conley's better now...we'll agree to disagree. However, your Maryland inferiority complex is shining through with that question about Ibekwe and Oden. Sorry..you didn't think I was gonna let you get away with that idiot crack, did you?...all in fun, boss...all in fun.

May 21, 2007  12:20 PM ET

haha yea i guess well have to agree to disagree, but i do like law and hope he falls to where they say he will...right about the pistons pick at 15.

May 21, 2007  02:19 PM ET

If the Pistons re-sign Billups, I don't understand taking an Acie Law @ 15. If he's as good as I think he'll be, Chauncey won't be ready to give up that spot in 3 years when Law will be able to move to another team. Plus, re-signing Billups will take big $...that's the other reason not to have Billups give up the point at that time. What draft board did you refer to, so I can see what else they have dumb NBA GM's doing?

May 21, 2007  03:08 PM ET

well they will take law if available no matter what bc of depth...they have always been short at the PG position and could really use this high pick to get someone that can step in and do a great job when billups is on the bench if hes back...you see the series against the bulls, when he was out they were hurting for that leadership and direction...go to espn.com for player rankings.

May 21, 2007  05:24 PM ET

why should he slide because of his age and maturity? that seems the other way around, what have we learnt from depending the young telfairs and livingston at PG??

May 21, 2007  05:27 PM ET

livingston isnt doing bad and telfair messed up bc of himself not bc he was a bust.

May 21, 2007  07:18 PM ET

So why won't he get drafted he's not immature, he's a leader on a winning team and a great player. Aren't those all good reasons to draft him?

May 21, 2007  07:54 PM ET

If he drops past the Pacers or the Hawks (depending on draft position), I'll be shocked. He and Conley will both be gone by the end of the lottery.

May 21, 2007  10:40 PM ET

acie law is a good player but i see him as a bench player in the NBA

May 22, 2007  10:30 AM ET

Law is a good player but Conley is better. That said, Law will be a stud in the NBA. A clutch guy who can be the kind of PG to carry his team on his back late.

May 22, 2007  01:36 PM ET

i'm sorry i like law in college but i just don't see him being great in the NBA. a serviceable starter maybe but more in line with a mike james than a tony parker.

May 22, 2007  02:48 PM ET

Are you serious? He can drive shoot and is the most clutch player in a long time

May 22, 2007  04:49 PM ET

i just think he lacks the playmaking ability and quickness to be a real star. i think he will be a decent player but never a star. but hey that is just my opinion. if every player who joined the league was as good as advertised then we would never see a game under 100 points scored.

May 22, 2007  05:49 PM ET

HES HOTT!! THE HEAT IS A GREAT TEAM FOR HIM

May 25, 2007  08:29 PM ET

Hot miami girl knows football you are right you must of read the same article i did the heat wants this guy in a major way Gary payton is 38 and needs to hang it up this guy will be pretty good in the nba not the fastest guard in the draft but has a high basketball I.Q. and can pass and has a good mid range jump shot.
