07:26 AM ET 11.26 | Sandy Alderson managed last season to sell David Wright on a future in Queens. The Mets general manager convinced the star third baseman of the plan he had in place: the stockpile of young, power arms is coming of age and then supplementing it with free agents as soon as the budget was freed from long-term commitments. Wright believed Alderson when he said this offseason would be a turning point for a franchise, so he committed to that plan, signing an extension that effectively made him a Met for life. ... [Wright] believes in the plan, but understands the frustration. "I am not here to sugarcoat anything, the past three years have been ugly," said Wright. "But I want to be part of those main reasons why we get things turned around here."

There is a good thing the Fish and old folks Phillies are in your division. What a battle you three will have trying to get to 500 and staying out of the basement in the division.
