Cowboys to wear blue jerseys (not throwbacks) on Thanksgiving

07:42 PM ET 11.26 | The dreaded blue jerseys are making a return to AT&T Stadium. The Dallas Cowboys will not be able to wear their traditional Thanksgiving throwbacks thanks to new NFL rules that prohibit teams from using alternate helmets as they improve their awareness on concussions, so they will be going with their blue jerseys against the Oakland Raiders. It will be the second time this season that the Cowboys suit up in blue. The Cowboys wore their blue jerseys on Sept. 29 when they took on the San Diego Chargers at Qualcomm Stadium, which is a game that they lost. If you are a Cowboys fan or NFL uniform buff, you are aware of the poor history that comes along with the Cowboys blue uniforms, so the team's fans will be nervous as they watch the action and hope to avoid an upset loss after their Thanksgiving Day feast.

In the late 70's and early 80's they always lost wearing the blue jerseys. Why now? Where your white's and don't ruin Romo's roll.

With respect to Dallas fans: You have great talent on your team.Your owner is an idiot and the uniform change would not happen unless he approved it.I think he did it to prevent the Raiders from wearing silver a black.

I am a Colts fan actually but I do like the Cowboys. When I was real young I liked Danny White and Dorsett and remember when they wore the blues they always lost. Raiders should've beat the Titans, had the done that they would be the 6th Seed right now. What a blown opportunity. That would've helped the Colts too.

I don't get the whole "they can only have one helmet" nonsense. I understand that the helmets are specially-fitted to help reduce concussions, but couldn't they just specially-fit two? It's not like the NFL is going broke.

Dallas could wear pink tutus and tiaras and still win by 20.

That's what I thought, but apparently that wasn't thought of before it was too late for this year. I believe I read that first with TB wanting to use the cream sickles.

You would think the teams had helmets to match any unis they planned to wear during the season.

The helmet maker probably has an exclusive clause.

All the more reason to let them get two. If I have an exclusive, the next best thing is volume.
