McNabb calls out scapegoating Shanahan

07:09 AM ET 11.27 | Donovan McNabb is at it again. [McNabb] seems to relish opportunities to discuss the Redskins struggles, and he did not hold back following Washington's 27-6 beat down at the hands of the San Francisco 49ers. McNabb questioned why Skins head coach Mike Shanahan would not take responsibility for his team's poor play during an appearance on Fox Sports Live. The most damning quote from McNabb came when saying that Shanahan not only refuses to take blame when things go bad, but that the coach finds a scapegoat. ... McNabb said that Shanahan is using Robert Griffin III as his scapegoat. "There's a scapegoat in every situation, and who's the scapegoat? Robert Griffin," McNabb said. More from McNabb, who only played one season in Washington, on the "Shanahan way": "This is something that I've seen, obviously."

McNabb needs to shut his **** mouth.

Mcnabb - enough said.

Donovan is just saying what everybody knows, the Shanahans stink and they should leave.

November 27, 2013  08:17 AM ET

We all know Shanahan is a piece of crap.

We just don't need to hear it from you, Donny.

November 27, 2013  08:59 AM ET

Shanahan looks like he's saying, "Get McNabb on the line!"

November 27, 2013  09:16 AM ET

McNabb and Mark Malone are on the radio here in the afternoon. Nary a day goes by that McNabb doesn't throw a former teammate or team under the bus, except for Andy Reid.

Why they gave him a microphone is beyond me.

Shanahan sucks but to be called out by that POS is kinda insulting.

watched the game Monday night against SF and it looked like the o-line was unable to stop the pass rush. RGIII had very little time to find an open receiver nor was Washington unable to mount any kind of running game There is the saying that your QB is only as good as your offensive line. Not sure if there has been some injuries to key players on line or players from line last year have left. in fairness, RG III is a little slower, I'm sure is result of injury. Maybe at this point in season it is time to sit RG III and have him to go to training room and work on strengthening the knee.

I call BS on this!!! It's Mike Shanahan's fault plain and simple!!! He is the HC!!! Come on Mike man-up and show the pro football world, you have some Gonads!!! The bottom line is that McNabb is right with this comment and some of the fans can't accept it.

Damn good comment!! If RG can't produce, then Shanahan has to remove he from the game. Most of the blame for the Skin's bad season this year, fall squarely on "MIKE SHANAHAN".

Shamahan is 24-35 in his time with the Redskins. No HC there has had a winning record since Gibbs left after 1992. Even he had a losing record on his return. I cannot stand Shanahan, never could, but it goes deeper than just a HC.

And honestly, it is 50/50 if RG is even in the league five years from now. He is not made for the pounding.

How do you know that owner Daniel Snyder isn't telling Shanahan what to do w/ RG III though?

WAMU, first of all, good morning my friend. I don't know for sure if Daniel Snyder is telling Shanahan anything about running the Skins football program, but IMO, it's still the HC's responsibility to remove a QB, if he isn't producing and again IMO, McNabb was right with his opinion.

50 I agree, but Shanahan has to man-up and take at least some of the blame for the Skin's bad season.

It's his arrogance and failure to admit Haslett and Little Shanny need to go.

Totally agree.... He's lacking attention.... He misses getting his ego stroked and can't let go.
