Mavs wearing down already?

07:13 AM ET 11.27 | After getting out of the gate 3-3, Dallas managed to win six of seven to jump to 9-4, but the club dropped two straight to the Nuggets to slip back to 9-6. The Mavericks play 18 games before November is over and are in the midst of a 10-game, 16-day stretch. There simply isn't enough time in the schedule right now to get in good, hard practice sessions and that may be sapping the Mavericks in terms of energy and the ability to fine tune things. "It's a murderous stretch of schedule because of the frequency of games," coach Rick Carlisle said. "We can't let a busy schedule influence the mental edge we have to bring the game." The fact is that the Mavericks looked sluggish against Denver, which admittedly is a fast team that can make anybody look slow at times. But this can't become a trend.

It's A Long Season, Bros.

Denver is getting better and the players are getting use to their roles and new coach. They have players that can really attack the basket and shoot in the perimeter. They will give fits to a lot of team.

Denver has a long way to go, but they are starting to put it together. Biggest change is Shaw is finding situational strengths and weaknesses of his lineups and adjusting.

Lose 2 in a row to a quick/young team, and we get a headline like that from the DMN? SOUND THE ALARM - THE MAVS ARE DEAD - or not!

A lot of teams peter out momentarily early on but the good ones **** up and get back on track. This Mavs team has a great offense but they aren't playing defense very well yet. Once they start doing that I think they will be a pretty good team.

Since they have Monta and Dirk, I would assume the trend of good O and bad D to continue.

ALWAYS? Do you even remember why the Spurs got the #1 pick and took Duncan? It wasn't because they were a great team.

...and why Houston picked picked Yao #1? It was because they totally sucked.

So what else is new with this franchise. Never had any lve for the team or it's owner. Coming down to just a few teams toactually keep an eye on out West and the Mavs aren't even on my radar.
