07:14 AM ET 11.27 | At least for one day, the heat is off Jason Kidd. Despite his team's rough start, Nets general manager Billy King said he still believes in [Kidd] as a coach and says the Nets need more time to come together after dealing with several injuries in the season's opening weeks. In an interview with the YES Network that aired during Tuesday night's 102-100 Nets victory -- a win that snapped the team's streak of five straight losses and eight in their previous nine games King said Kidd already has become a much better coach than he was just a few weeks ago when training camp began. "Fortunately, I get to see him every day at practice, and we meet pretty much every day and talk," King said, "and from Day One of training camp to now, he's grown [tremendously], and I think he'll continue to grow."

The Mighty Raptors were flat last night. They had 4 days between games.

I'm sorry......But on the job training for a coach should be when they are ASSISTANTS not when you are a head coach on a team with expectations

They already have 2 head coaches on the floor, D-Will and KG.

HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA I really wanted J Kidd to do well, but it does not look like it is to be.

You're still Not Ready, Bro.

The Russian has joined the crowded field of professional teams owners that drive their teams into the ground, e.g. James Dolan, Jim Buss, Woody Johnson, H&H Steinbrenner, Jerry Jones.

1 freaking win and he is considered growing leaps and bounds? The win was also pure luck. Maybe his old assistant coach gave it to Kidd because he feels sorry for him. Why do you diagram a game winning play for Amir Johnson to shoot a 3 pointer and Novak trying to tip in the shot? Perfect play! Wrong player to shoot it.

1 NBA team allegiance for sale. No further need for the Nets' BS.

not yet-he has miles to go before he can be included with the likes of jimmy dolan.you can't just ruin ONE 5 year period.....you need to ruin MULTIPLE eras before you become anabortion of an owner like dolan

He can't be on the list because there is nothing to ruin. They've been irrelevant for awhile already. What's there to ruin if the team was already ruined?

I was at the game last night. Andre Blatche looked great, and you could see the talent and horsepower the nets have. But they just made one bone headed play after another just giving the ball back to the raptors. It's early but I see Jason Kidd as a Lenny Wilkens type coach with Tom Thibodeau on the other end of the scale. The guy needs a whip.

Nets are undefeated outside the U.S.,,,,,,,,,,,,,fact

I don't care how much he's grown. The Nets spent too much money to be 4-10. That's all we need to know. If Kidd doesn't get this team headed in the right direction, he's out. And King may be with him.

I think you are probably correct in suggesting that Kidd's grace period may be up. If he doesn't start playing at least .500 ball they will probably make a change. They spent to much to throw away the season.

Yeah the owner went all in this season. They have this one year to try to make it to the finals and then it will just be Pacers, Heat vs. OKC, Clippers, GS, etc. next year

Haven't had the opprotunity yet to see Coach Kidd in action, but I have heard through the media that he is just sitting on the bench and not doing much else. J. Kidd has always show his knowledge of the game from the point guard position, now hehas to take that same leadership approach when if comes to leading the Brooklyn Nets from the bench. Egos aside he has to vocal enough to gain that same respect from the players as a coach as he did a a floor leader.
The first true test will come when D. Wills is finally healthy. At the moment it's hard t win when one of your est players is sitting next to yu n the bench but this is where most coaches make their money. Adversity will either bring out the best or the worst in anyone. Time for J. Kidd to justify the Nets managements decision to give hime the keys to the Bmmer!

I totally agree I believe this team has the talent to oversome the heat and eventually represent the east in the finalls it just all comes down to Jason Kidd. I will never understand how u hire a rookie coach when your team is built to win now and not in the long run
