07:17 AM ET 11.27 | It was nearly a year ago that Dexter Fowler jumped out of the gate with eight home runs in April, but there's a chance he won't see this coming April in Denver. After striking out on aggressive plays for Jose Abreu, Brian McCann and Carlos Ruiz, the Rockies continue exploring multiple options to land an impact bat and bullpen arms. They have talked with the Angels about slugger Mark Trumbo, who will be hard to pry away, and called the Royals about their surplus of relievers. The Rockies main trade piece is [Fowler], who could be a fit in Kansas City. Opposing executives have said for weeks that the Rockies are open to trading Fowler. The Rockies have already talked with Carlos Gonzalez about playing center field if necessary.

Sounds like the Rockies and the M's are having a difficult time attracting FA's to sign with them.

The problem the Rockies are finding out that they have no one any other team wants.

The guy isn't that great. .260 hitters with little power aren't exactly a hot commodity.
