07:26 AM ET 11.27 | Tuesday meant a return to the roller-coaster for Dmitry Orlov. [The Capitals] announced they had assigned the defensive prospect back to the Hershey Bears just a day after he was summoned to Washington. It marked the fifth time in the past month Orlov has been recalled and subsequently returned to the AHL without appearing in an NHL game. ... The routine indicates the Capitals aren't inclined to play Orlov, 22, but rather are simply trying to hang on to his rights. According to a league source with knowledge of the situation, Orlov's contract contains a clause that would allow him to leave for Russia's Kontinental Hockey League on Jan. 1, 2014 if he has not been on the active NHL roster for a total of 30 days this season.

If he is good enough to play, then play him.

If he is not good enough, let the kid go home.

What a Mickey Mouse organization. Oh wait, that honor has already been bestowed.

At this rate, he'll have enough flyer miles for a trip to Siberia in no time!

DL, trips to Siberia have always been free. Just call Putin's boys to make the arrangements. :-)

Fixed to better reflect totalitarianism of Mother Russia.

Surely you meant, "to better reflect freedom and democracy of Mother Russia." Kind of like, the "People's Democratic Republic of China" or ... North Korea.

Have you tried the new Orlov cookies lately? Hershey on one side, Oates on the other with a lot of BS in between.

LOL!

The kid isn't doing too bad in Hershey. 3 goals, 6 assists and a plus 3 so far this season. I'd make him an injury call up, but I don't think he's earned a spot on the Caps roster with his play in Hershey.

There was this chick that really liked a Hershey kiss....

Another sulky Russian?

I am sure Dimitri is merely playing Orlov of the game anyways

I wouldn't go that far, he needs to pick up his game to go to the next level, but he doesn't seem to be inclined to do that. He probably thought that with the wording in the contract he would be playing in Washington by now, but management always has a way of turning things to their advantage, however.

He might like sleeping on the bus rides, rather than the white knuckle S7 Airline rides experiences that pop up when he boards a plane.
