07:50 AM ET 11.28 | Patrick Roy and Ken Hitchcock may have given rise to a new rivalry in the Western Conference, courtesy postgame jousting via their media scrums. The backstory was that after Roy's histrionics at the end of Colorado's opening-night victory over Anaheim, Hitchcock -- like Roy, once a very successful major junior coach -- labeled Roy's actions "junior hockey." ... [After Wednesday's game, Roy said:] "You know what, I was very mad at the end because I have been jabbed by different coaches around the league, especially Hitchcock when he said that was junior stuff." ... Outside the visiting locker room, when Hitchcock was told of the gist of Roy's comments, the St. Louis coach responded: "Oh, give me a break. Tell Patrick to shut the (bleep) up."

Thanks to Roy, the Avalanche are quickly becoming THE most hated team in the NHL.

Yeah, Patrick! Shut the puck up!

Thanksgiving Turkey will be served tonight in Nashville, courtesy of the Edmonton Oilers. Bring your Pepto-Bismol.

If we're lucky we'll all be comatose from turkey, stuffing, pie and "beverages"! Bet they have a full house for that game <s>!!

I seriously believe that Roy (pronounced Ru-ahhh), is wired quite right. He strikes me as something close to a Slapshot mentality - with apologies to the Hansons and Paul Newman.

I think you meant, "isn't" wired quite right. Roy has the Avs playing 'playoff hockey' every game. Not good. Come playoff time, that team will have no surprises left and not much left in the tank either. He'll burn them out with all this 'intensity' stuff.

Happy Thanksgiving to all my American friends.

I intended to put up my turkey avatar to celebrate but I'm putting it up for the Leafs/Pens game last night instead. The Leafs "D" looked as organized as the playroom in a Chucky Cheese and MAF was in playoff form.

BTW Handy Randy your strategy of not getting a shot on goal for all of the third period and overtime so you'd have a cold goalie for the shootout didn't work.

But they're fun to watch Roamer.

How about those Wings?

Thanks Canuck.

I about turned the game off after the beginning of the 2nd period. Fluery was absolutely horrible, I hope Bylsma starts Zatkoff on Friday too.

I'm wonder how the Wings scored 6 goals on the best defenseman the world has ever seen.

I'm part of the 7 day weekend club too. It makes holidays a little different, but just as enjoyable.

Yep, but then I have to remind myself, it really doesn't matter what day it is.

Bobby Orr retired almost 30 years ago.

Rex, you obviously haven't been paying attention to BostonGM's posts. (which is totally understandable) According to him Chara is the best defenseman the world has ever seen, sent down from earth by the hockey gods to instill fear and trembling in all who play against Boston. He is able to totally shut down other teams even when he is sitting on the bench.
