10:23 AM ET 11.28 | During the Chicago Bears' Week 12 loss to the St. Louis Rams, starting running back Matt Forte suffered a hyper-extended right knee. Forte was miraculously able to finish the game on Sunday afternoon with 117 total yards, but the sore knee has kept him out of practice early in the week. Forte has been held out of practice to give him some additional rest to ensure his knee is as healthy as possible entering this weekend when the team plays the division rival Minnesota Vikings and the team seems confident that he will be able to play. Bears head coach Marc Trestman said that he is optimistic Forte will be available to help the team in their postseason push.

But will it be Good Forte or Bad Forte?

It's a division matchup, but Chicago winning on Sunday will have more to do with whether they can stop Adrian Peterson, and not whether Forte can do similar damage to the Vikes. Michael Bush is a capable back, and it's not unreasonable to think McCown can have success against the Vikes D.

Save Forte for the matchups against Dallas, Philly and (especially) Green Bay.

I say be careful with Forte and have him sit out against Minnesota......

I mean, you can't be too careful.

And maybe McCown should sit. Maybe the Bears can sign Caleb Hanie for a week...

Crap. I'm not optimistic regardless who plays RB for Chicago.

I see a typical hard-hitting game between these two. The Bears obviously have more to play for, but AD saves his best for NFC North foes.

Won't matter.

21-17 Bears, scoring the winning TD in the final minute.

They can still hit rock bottom and keep digging.
