Cheeks' Pistons didn't deserve a day off

07:25 AM ET 11.29 | It is, of course, a coach's prerogative to change his mind, something Maurice Cheeks did Thursday. [Cheeks] was noncommittal about the subject of a potential Thanksgiving Day practice before Wednesday's game, but when you get outscored by 22 points in the second half to lose decisively to a wounded Chicago Bulls team, your hand is forced. Practice? Indeed. ... "I thought we needed a little bit of work," said the Pistons' coach after a 90-minute session Thursday. "I understand about Thanksgiving but I thought we needed work and it did something for us today." When a talented starting five goes two-for-18 in the second half, in a game that could've built more momentum in an underwhelming Eastern Conference to date, Cheeks wasn't going to take much in the way of lip about the necessity of a practice session.

Mo was NEVER a HC material. He's a GREAT mentor and a human being, but doesn't have the command one requires out of a HC.

To many egos? How about they are just young and learning to play together? Or that they have no bench.

It was Thanksgiving. No team from Detroit should have Thanksgiving off. Hell get the Tigers out there and let them play a game.
