... And Barkley's picking the upset

07:34 AM ET 11.29 | With one of the most significant Iron Bowls in history on the horizon, Charles Barkley had a few words of encouragement for Auburn. But the legendary Auburn and NBA player may need to choose his words wisely before addressing the Tigers Saturday afternoon inside their locker room at Jordan-Hare Stadium. "I've got to figure out how much time I've got, how much profanity I can use," Barkley said Wednesday. ... Barkley will travel Friday to Auburn to soak in the atmosphere, address the team and make a few public appearances before the Tigers' showdown with No. 1 Alabama (11-0, 7-0 SEC). He expects No. 4 Auburn (10-1, 6-1) to win, and the key to victory will be quarterback Nick Marshall. "We're going to have to throw the ball," Barkley said.

The Mouth that Roared - and Roars and Roars. Put a sock in it, Charles, and shut up.

War Eagle!

Chuck??? Profanity???

Nah, never, not in a million years.

TZ, as an Auburn fan this weekend I cannot help but wonder if Chucky's pep talk will have the desired effect or will it become Satan's bulletin board material.

He's an Auburn guy, what else would he say?

Plus Bama does not need bulletin board material.

I'm probably one of the few that likes Barkley's big mouth. He isn't afraid to speak his mind or always be PC.

One of my favorites is "Kids shouldn't view us pro basketball players as role models. For the most part, we are a sorry lot." That statement was absolutely the truth...and not PC.

Won't matter. Tide rolls...unfortunately.

Aubie got their ranking for beating the agnuts....and that isn't looking all that good anymore. And a hail mary against a depleted Georgia team.

Here's this years results:

Wazzou 31-24
Arkie State 38-9
Miss State 24-20
@ LSU 21-35
Ole Miss 30-22
Western Carolina 62-3
@ A&M 45-41
Florida Atl 45-10
@Arkansas 35-17
@Tennessee 55-23
Georgia 43-38

But, I still hope Auburn wins. At least it is at home...they've only been on the road 4 times this year.

He's great. I like that he says what he wants to say.

With you all the way DC. I said it on other threads... Auburn is way overrated. They are not the #4 team in the country. I would name at least 7/8 other teams ahead of them.

Well, they'd all have to be SEC teams ya know. No other teams would be worthy of placement above them cuz their only loss is to LSU!

+1

And I agree about who wins this, if Aubie wins it'll be quite a shocker. They remind me of UF last year -- got away with several W's that they shouldn't have, which inflated their ranking.

For all you Horn fans, Jeffcote looked pretty beastly last night. Mayfield gonna have nightmares featuring him for a while.

this is the man that once told a Houston reporter after he signed with the Rockets that he came there cause everyone in the NBA knew at that time that Houston had the best strip clubs. course he used another term that the mods will just turn into asterisks

My gut tells me one more year, but some people in the know are saying it'll happen after Baylor

And he was correct in his assessment of said establishments.

...not that I would personally have knowledge of such.... 8-)

Maybe OkLite? Maybe?

Most definitely OkLite!

Auburn is a one-dimensional offensive team, they have 2 good pass rushers on D. That's it. OkLite would dismantle them.
