Potential doom lurking for Leafs

07:36 AM ET 11.29 | Likely the most difficult week to date of this 2013-14 season, Toronto's next two games -- against Buffalo and Montreal -- set up as extremely important, particularly with what the schedule presents on the other side of the weekend. The potential doom that is lurking should the Leafs fail to right the ship defensively is what could arguably be the toughest stretch of their schedule, an eight-game potential horror show that begins on Dec. 3 and includes games against the Sharks, Stars, Senators, Bruins, Kings, Blues, Blackhawks and Penguins. The Atlantic Division standings doesn't paint the same rosy picture of optimism it did a few weeks ago, either.

The sky is always falling for the Toronto media ..... except when the Leafs are losing. They're so used to it, they don't know how to handle success.

S.O.S. Same old story with the Leafs. Defense has always been the problem with the Buds. It won't be an easy job but they need to find at least two punishing D-men either in the minors or oversees who will make any other team doubt their offense when entering over the blue line. Phaneuf, Franson, Gunnarsson, and Fraser are at best average players and won't bring the Leafs the cup.

The semi hasn't driven off Burkie's cliff just yet but a couple of wheels are no longer on the road.

At least you know that the stretch will end on a high note since they are playing the Pens.

But ... they still have Miss Pinch patrolling the blue line. I don't see a problem. ;-)

The Battle of the C's: Celine vs. Cindy (Sorry Burgh-Fan. Too good to pass up when you know it's coming anyway).

The other night when they started going after each other I was holding my breath. I was afraid that they were going to drop gloves and start b***h slapping each other.

Ahhhhh, finally hittin' the meat of the schedule. Let's see afterwards if Danny still says the Metrosexual Division is the worst.

No problem Roamer. I don't mind a little good natured ribbing.

I get "irked" at people who think their team is the best and no other team in the league even comes close. I kind of vented yesterday and I have to apologize to the reasonable Bruins fans. Everything was pointed towards one guy and from the posts he left late yesterday he still didn't get it.
