08:55 AM ET 12.01 | The Marlins like some of the Cubs' prospects and look for the teams to talk in the coming weeks, with Miami potentially offering pitching. The Cubs have multiple third base prospects at Double and Triple A, including former first-round picks Javier Baez (who has been playing shortstop) and Mike Olt and emerging Christian Villanueva. Baez would require the most in a trade; he hit .282, with 37 homers and 111 RBI in Single and Double AA.

wonder why the marlins have such great talent in their minor league? coz they always
are trying to built-in instead trade and not refill!!!?

Explain to me Mr. Writer how you think someone who played at Single A and Double A would bring more trade value than a seasoned Triple A player who has shown already that he is ready for the big show?

I thought the Cubs would want to keep the prospects listed above, other than maybe Olt, who seems to be a retread at this point.

Baez actually looks like a good prospect, just turned 21 today and slugged over .600 last season in AA. Usually the guys that get trumpeted here as top prospects are 28 years old and finally got promoted to AA when a real player would have been in the majors for several season already.

Ja hey der, where's Markie? He must be attending to Cutler's groin. Bears suck so bad, they should move to Kenosha.

Yah Mark's dad, I think Markie was earnin some extra holiday money from the lonely truckers down at Superb Video. You know he got fired from Culver's for putting his thingie in the custard.

Olt may be the most promising of all the prospects they named here, IMO.

Olt will turn 26 next season and was absolutely horrible in AAA last season...hit about .200 with little power. He's officially off the prospect list and on the suspect list. If a guy's going be really good, he's generally going to be established as a ML player before he's 26.
