09:19 AM ET 12.01 | Andrew Bailey has made twice-weekly trips to Boston since the end of the season to work with Red Sox physicians and trainers as he works to rehabilitated the right shoulder he had surgically repaired in July. The next trip to Boston is scheduled for Tuesday. There's no guarantee Bailey still will be a member of the Red Sox organization by then. With five years of service time in the major leagues, Bailey is entering his third year of salary arbitration. Under the system as instituted, he figures to negotiate or be awarded a salary of more than $4 million if he's tendered a contract. Because his surgery is expected to keep him out for at least half the season, however, he's a strong candidate not to be tendered a contract. The Red Sox have to decide by the Monday deadline whether or not to tender him a contract.

Considering that the best thing he did last year was get hurt and open the way for Uehara as the closer, I'd say his time with the Red Sox is done.
