11:11 AM ET 12.01 | If the Wild can't sign free agent and former Gopher Thomas Vanek of the New York Islanders after the season, look for them to pursue Hastings native Derek Stepan of the New York Rangers. Either player would provide the one additional scorer the Wild need to contend for a Stanley Cup.

The Wild are already thinking of next year?

And you know how those free agent acquisitions always work out.

Watch the Wild sign Vanek and the Islanders end up with nothing for Moulson and all those draft picks. Classic Islanders!

If they get a goalie, and start playing D...it won't be this bad. I think they should've kept Moulson. He had chemistry built there, and Vanek has been ok, but they are losing like (insert team here Canuck eh?)

Sign Vanek? With what? They are Wildly overextended as is. Unless, of course, they are planning on buying out Danny Heatley. They don't have much room to move otherwise, even if the cap is raised next year.
