Packers could shut down Aaron Rodgers for season

12:15 PM ET 12.01 | The Green Bay Packers suffered another loss on Thanksgiving Day, as their struggles continue without star quarterback Aaron Rodgers. The hope is that Rodgers will be able to return next week, but there is no certainty and he could eventually be ruled out even further. If Rodgers is unable to return next weekend, the Packers' chances of making the postseason are slim to none. As a result, the team could decide to shut their quarterback down for the remainder of the season and allow him to fully recover.

Fansided is an idiot site that just makes crap up. Between this story and the one about our defensive player who supposedly wants to punch people in the throat that was posted here the other day, they've proved they make this garbage up. There has been ZERO talk about shutting down Rodgers, there's been nothing in the papers about this which would be HUGE NEWS here and the Packers wouldn't do that in a thousand years anyway. The story about the defensive player wanting to punch people in the throat was made up garbage too. That would be all over the papers here and everywhere else and he probably would have been fined had he said that and it wasn't and he wasn't, so Fansided, shove it. Pitiful site you have if that's what you guys do all day every day. You have ZERO credibility in my book.

How do you really feel about it?

If they are out of the running, don't play him!

Packers are pretty much done. Just sit Rodgers out and draft a defensive end. Clowney would fit nice

Shut him down and enjoy a loner career for Rodgers, and Packers could use a good spot in the Draft.

:) I've been told I need to stop holding things in so much. They say it'll eat me up. Thanks for the laugh.

Not really. The Packers are only a game and a half out of first place.

It is FantasyNation thus why the stories are fun. Don take them seriously.

If there is no good shot of making the playoffs and going deep, the best course is letting Rogers heal, take the losses and get good picks for next year and regroup and reload.

#1 - I first read about shutting down Rodgers for the year in the Milwaukee Gazette. That's a major newspaper. Well respected. Learn how to read.

#2 - The "throat punch" thing was obviously hyperbole
And wasn't meant literal, but was said. Live. On radio. Do some research.

#3 - Yeah, my team sucks, too. Get over it. It's only football.

Correct.

But I don't see a Giants-like run in them.

Anything is possible, though. The Obamacare website could work tomorrow, Iran could dump Sharia Law, and Christian Ponder could be MVP.

Good move to shut him down, the season is a lost, even though it looks like the Lions can be caught its better to throw in the white towel and get him healthy for next season.
