Gloom and doom for Providence

07:18 AM ET 12.02 | What a difference four weeks makes for Ed Cooley and the Providence Friars. A month ago, Cooley had Kris Dunn at point guard and promising freshmen Brandon Austin and Rodney Bullock near the top of his bench. Sunday night at the Barclays Center, none of the three was wearing a uniform in Kentucky's 79-65 win. There is a chance they won't step on the floor the rest of this season. That potential reality would squeeze Cooley's depth down to seven players. It's hard to believe that could be enough for the Friars to satisfy their dreams of playing in the NCAA Tournament. ... Cooley went on to say that Austin and Bullock remain suspended following an undisclosed on-campus incident. There is now a chance that they remain suspended for the remainder of the season but no final word on their status is forthcoming.
