07:26 AM ET 12.04 | Royce White has his eye on a future that includes professional basketball in the NBA. He's just looking for the right fit. "I'm optimistic it will happen," the former Iowa State star said. "We're in contact with some teams. "Quite a few more than expected. People are more understanding than you think. It's not an insensitive crowd. There are teams involved. It's finding a situation that's appropriate." White has a well-documented anxiety disorder that has prevented him from playing. He was cut by the Philadelphia 76ers in October. "Basketball is in a flux for me at this point, but it's something that happens to a lot of guys in their early careers," said White, 22. "For me, it's can we find a team that has the right setup, has an open mind, wants to understand what I'm saying."

I could see teams giving him a 10 day contract once they're allowed to. Question is what kind of shape is he in now?

December 4, 2013  07:52 AM ET

There's no questioning the kid's talents. It's everything that is between the ears that is the problem, and he has a documented history going all the way back to his high school days.

Theres only so many chances u can get to play on a NBA team young man

December 4, 2013  08:22 AM ET

He now realize the mistake he made with his issues. Maybe now he got to see just how hard other people have it trying to make ends meet in a normal every day situation, its easier playing basketball for a living. There are some fringe benefits that don't come with being an every day "Joe." So get your **** on the plane and play basketball!

Your 15 minutes of fame is over. You made money on rookie contracts pretty much holding a gun to the teams head, and STILL complaining about "mis-treatment" in the media. You kindof took advantage of your so-called "condition" and made lots of money.
It is best you go away and find another career. NO team will play ONLY home games or be able to accommodate you to ride a bus cross country. Ain't happening.

December 4, 2013  08:39 AM ET

If he was a star, teams might be willing to accomodate him but he's role player. Not starter material imo.

December 4, 2013  08:43 AM ET

Just Disappear, Bro.

December 4, 2013  09:06 AM ET

He is done! He throw his chances away! How many more chances does he need. 2 teams that gave him a chance and he didn't make use of it. There are better players than this primadonna!

Totally agree here.... Dude should just find another career. I doubt any team in the league will consider taking a chance on him. Not worth the headache at all.....

And Lucy wants Charlie Brown to give her another chance to hold for his kicks ... but she doesn't expect a multi-million dollar guaranteed contract before she pulls the ball away again. Go home, Royce, and stay there.

is this guy for real....unbelievable!

Take more time off and get over your fear of flying. Then and only then start saying you want to get back in

December 4, 2013  11:36 AM ET

Enough- Get your anxiety under control and show teams you logged in a couple hundred thousand frequent flyers miles and then maybe you might get back in the league...

December 4, 2013  02:47 PM ET

Not just "No", but hell "NO"!!! The guy is in the wrong career. Excuses, excuses, excuses...

December 4, 2013  02:53 PM ET

The poster child for "Sense of Entitlement".

"For me, it's can we find a team that has the right setup, has an open mind, wants to understand what I'm saying."

Why is it that players always find the answer after they realize they've flushed their career down the toilet. Smart money says it happens right after you miss that 1st paycheck.
