07:34 AM ET 12.05 | So much for a long stay at the top for Michigan State and Tom Izzo. [Roy Williams] is now 7-0 against Izzo and Michigan State while leading the Tar Heels, the latest victory a 79-65 decision on Wednesday night in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge. ... To say Izzo was disappointed about the loss would be an understatement. But apparently it didn't result in any postgame blowups. On the contrary, Izzo was at a loss, just as his players were. "Coach didn't even yell at us," guard Travis Trice said. "His thing was more like, 'What's going on? What's wrong? Why didn't we bring it today?' We've had a couple bad practices, the last couple weeks we've had a couple games where we didn't play as well but never this -- never this, even in practice. It seemed like everything that could go wrong went wrong and we didn't respond."

Hats off again to Heels, but that was not Sparty out there last night. They were banged up bad and played with no desire.

It's only December. Izzo will have 'em ready for conference play in January.

Congrats to the Baby Heels. Wishing Coach Roy could bottle up the passion and intensity from last night and uncork it for the rest of the season.

They were all over the boards. Sparty had one shot and every 50/50 and ball on the glass went NC's way.

B1G/ACC a 6-6 split...........Meh

The coach that figures out how to bottle those two things up and market that product will be rich.

Sounds like good match ups. Wish others (and these) would do more of this type scheduling.

NC has been playing w/ out 2 of their better players since the year started...

They still have talent but like the article said, not sure what team you going to get... Beat LVille and MSU.. lose to UAB and Belmont...

They got UK in @10 days..

This might be a team by the time season ends they are running all cylinders

What would happen if the SEC actually built a more competitive men's basketball conference?

Football would go down....unless Stephen Covey is in charge. Then it would be win, win.

Hey I watched your game. You guys are on the right track. Nice facility, good talent. You will make some noise and do some damage this yr. Biggs and Petteway are good.

I think Miles was an excellent hire...Doc was a great D-minded coach but you have to have SOME offense...

Not much of a b'ball fan, even with Izzo. If one Spartan team had to fall this week, I'm glad it was the b'ball team. Go Green! On to Pasadena by way of the victory in Indy.

My heart's with ya DS but my head doesn't think so.

But, the anemic Sparty offense against the leaky bucknut defense will be interesting to say the least.
