09:50 AM ET 12.07 | On Thursday, Notre Dame nose guard Louis Nix III posted an Instagram picture of the school's famed golden dome literally in his rearview mirror. If that left even the smallest room for interpretation, this does not: Nix has signed with an agent and is NFL-bound. The Irish's bulwark nose guard, a prospect with consensus high first-round pick potential, signed with agents Todd France and Brian Ayrault and unsurprisingly will not return for a fifth season, a league source confirmed to the Tribune. Signing with an agent forfeits eligibility at the college level, but Nix's decision was the thoroughly expected one. Nix currently is the No. 4 overall prospect in ESPN Scouts Inc.'s rankings for the 2014 NFL Draft.

I guess he doesn't care about helping his teammates in the bowl game?

Other than that it's hard to criticize him ... he earned his degree which speaks well of his character. That's more than I can say for 90% of the rest.

Wasn't he out with an injury anyway? Or did I get that confoozed with another Domer player?

I hope that the fat boy is paid in chicken feed like the CHICKEN SHI* team.

I hate norte DAM.

I hope the NCAA gives Notre Dame the death penalty like they did to USC for Reggie Bush, allegedly, doing the same thing. Actually reggie didn't even sign with the agent.

Had knee surgery, isn't about to be on a football field for six months.

Nix signed after his last CFB game, and his Mama didn't take a house and money over the last two years.
Take your Meds and go away, Sandy.

Did his four years, got a degree and played well.
Time to move on, but he will always be be part of the ND family.
The Irish wish him well in the NFL and in the rest of his life.

Comparing Nix to Reggie Bush ? Those two players not even in the same stadium. Bush is the ONLY player in the history of the Heisman Trophy FORCED to return the trophy. Bush received so many gifts, cars, girls, its a wonder he made it thru his junior season.

I believe it took Reggie about a year to "find" the trophy and send it back.

It's a wonder that he didn't sign with the agent that gave him all those gifts from his prison cell.
