04:14 PM ET 12.07 | Throughout the past few weeks, we have heard plenty of discussion surrounding New York Knicks star Carmelo Anthony and the possibility that the team could be looking to trade him before he becomes a free agent next season, but those reports have been denied and the Knicks are now saying that they have no intentions of trading their top player. New York has been able to string together two wins over the struggling Brooklyn Nets and Orlando Magic after a painful losing streak, so it is promising that they have are heading in the right direction and appear to be turning things around. When the team was struggling, trading Anthony made sense so that they would be able to get something in return before free agency hits.

Why should they ... by keeping Melo in the roster the Knicks have a guaranteed spot in the draft lottery.

I woudnt trade melo. The knicks are only a quality player away from being a decent team. That being said teams are more likely to move there valuable assest closer to the deadline so ill wait and then way my options if I were the Knicks

an of course moving the ball more and not playing iso ball once reaching half court would help too

see, I think I would break it all down-they will not be beating the heat or pacers this year-which means they at BEST are a 2nd round team againif they keep melo, they are basically locking themselves into the same position again....why do that?if they break it down- trade whatever isn't nailed down- they have a chance of re-inventing the team within 2 years.in this new NBA- unless you draft a super stud- the team wlll turn over within 4-5 years no matter whatso just get a jump on it now.

They are NOT going to get a better player than 'Melo either through FA or drafts. 'Melo has pulled his weight this season, it's the coaching and other players that's the problem.
