07:26 AM ET 12.09 | Former San Antonio Spurs swingman Stephen Jackson may have himself a way back to the NBA. The Los Angeles Clippers are strongly considering the signing of [Jackson] to fill their growing need on the wing, according to sources familiar with the team's thinking. Sources told ESPN.com that Jackson, who has been searching for a new team since his sudden release by the Spurs shortly before last season's playoffs in April, has emerged as a prime candidate for the Clippers to sign as early as this week after a series of injuries have decimated L.A.'s depth. Injuries suffered by starting guard J.J. Redick, top reserve Matt Barnes and rookie forward Reggie Bullock prompted Clippers coach Doc Rivers to announce after Saturday's loss in Cleveland that the Clippers essentially "have to look somewhere."

There's going to be a flurry of trades and waives. Why not let it play out and see who becomes available?
Salmons is being waived after the trade.

Look like Doc wants every head case on his bench.

And I would take Jackson over Odom any day. No drama or Kardashians to worry about.

What can be said about some of these guys who just keep getting recycled. What? There's not enough young talent out there that you could give some one else a shot at NBA stardom. Come on man. If Jackson was released by the Spurs because he thought he should have been a starter, what do the Clippers think has changed in the last few months. People laugh at Iverson when he said he was opposed to coming off the bench, and I'd take him over Jackson any day of the week. Yeah, I know this is about filling a need, but come on. Nothing against you Jackson, but if you've taken care of you money go home and sit down. Enjoy life and the family. Don't be yet another athlete that has to have the jersey cut off him.
