07:28 AM ET 12.09 | So far, Sandy Alderson has three locks for the Mets' starting rotation: Jonathon Niese, Zack Wheeler and Dillon Gee. But with Matt Harvey due to miss 2014 recovering from Tommy John surgery, Alderson acknowledged he would like to add at least one external starting pitcher. That would avoid the Mets potentially having to use two prospects from the beginning of the season, from a group that likely would include Jacob deGrom, Noah Syndergaard and Rafael Montero. ... Asked if one of the prospects could be in the Opening Day rotation, the GM added: "It's possible." As for the caliber of pitcher he is looking to add, Alderson was nonspecific about whether he would bring in someone of the Daisuke Matsuzaka/Aaron Harang ilk or aim higher. "Let's wait and see," the GM said.

Dice K seriously? Aim higher? I guess lower than snakes belly in a wagon rut would be higher.

Dice K is someone you bring in when you have no other options.

Bring in Bronson Arroyo, he'll eat innings and allow the Mets to properly groom their young pitchers without rushing them. DK & Harang are DL candidates even before the season begins

QUOTE(#3):

The Indians gave him a minor league contract last year an flat out released him without as much as one inning pitched for them in the majors. That's not a good sign.

They told Tito they were calling Dice K up and he went into a coma.

"going after"? Dice-K finished with the Mets last year.

He still has a penchant for putting runners on base via the base on balls.
