James Neal is a liar

07:34 AM ET 12.09 | The Bruins have headed to Calgary after quite a weekend, one that included all manner of trouble for and against them. [Late in the first period Saturday, Brad Marchand] clipped skates with Penguins captain Sidney Crosby while playing the puck. He fell and lay on his side. [The Penguins' James Neal] glided at Marchand as the play went up ice, altered his angle slightly, put his left knee straight into Marchand's head. ... Asked about his intent, Neal said: "I mean, what do you want me to say? That I was trying to hit him? No, I'm going by him. I don't get out of the way, like I said. I need to be more careful and I guess get my knee out of the way, but I'm not trying to hit him in the head or injure him or anything like that." Wait. Neal guesses he needs to get his knee out of the way? Didn't he need to look at it again? BS. He did it on purpose and tried to make it look like an accident, and now he's lying about it.

Really dirty play. He's not fooling anyone! This demands a suspension!

I think Neal still holds a grudge from when Marchand boarded him during the SC Playoffs last spring. There seems to be a real uptick in below the belt play lately.

I just hope he didn't tear his MCL on Marchand's beak.

I don't have a problem with Neal getting a suspension. He should not have acted that way, and the Pens should not continue to lower themselves to the Bruins' level, as they do.

LOL, yes the real issue with that game was Neal...

Completely agree.

Like I said yesterday he's going with the Steckel defense and since it worked for him I don't see why it shouldn't work for Neal.

It was a punk hit. Subsequent events don't diminish that.

No, but the Bruins fans are using as a smoke screen for what their boy Shawn did.

Right. Because the bruins have ended so many Penguin seasons with cheap shots.

Lets review.

Cooke. Enough said.
Neal kneeing Marchand. Headhunting on Giroux a couple of years ago.
Orpik hitting Eriksson in the head.
Dupuis slashing and breaking Kelly's leg.

Pittsburgh is and has been a dirty team. Your pathetic blather doesn't change it.

I'm sure Shawn Thornton will give him a proper welcome the next time the Broonz and Penguins meet.

Why didn't he do that right then and there? Maybe Neal was watching him so Thornton had to find someone who wasn't looking so he could jump him.

There was one point where Marchand was on the ice milking it for all he was worth, they were getting a stretcher for Orpik and good ol' Claude was barking at the Penguin bench. Claude's attitude shows up in the players and then percolates to the fans. The result is you have a huge collection of candy arses who love to dish it out, but scream bloody murder when someone does something to them.

I do enjoy all the pens fans making up the fact thay there are people defending Thornton. At least he admitred he was wrong. Unlike Neal.

Neal high tailed it off the ice after he kneed Marchand. Review the film.

QUOTE(#15):

probably because Neal doesn't have the reputation that Orpik has of being a cheap shot artist that won't stand and fight after said cheap shots. I'm not a fan of what happened to Orpik though, that's not the type of payback I think is good for the league. I do think there's still a place for enforcers, but cheap shots like Thorntons should be dealt with severely...as should Neal's.

Neal ran off the ice to the bench.

QUOTE(#12):

So how about Dupuis breaking Kelly's leg? I'm sure that was another accident and not on purpose slash.

I saw the clip, Dupius was swinging at the puck, it and then hit Kelley on his shin pad. Kelley slashed him back and they both played on. How can they now say that Kelley's fibula was broken on that play? They don't know for sure, but that doesn't stop the Bruins.
