07:28 AM ET 12.10 | Yes, Sixers forward Thaddeus Young has heard his name come up as a player who would go the other way if Philadelphia dealt for center Omer Asik. "When you see stuff like that on my Twitter page, you can't help but read the article," Young said pregame Monday. "It is what it is. If they see fit to trade me, I have to go and take my family with me to the next city." ... [Young] makes $8.6 million this season, and is set to earn $9.2 million in 2014-15 with a $9.7 million player option for the following season, while Asik is getting $5.2 million this year and jumps to $14.9 million next season. His cap figure is the average of his three-year deal ($8.3 million), so the two players could be traded 1-for-1. Sixers GM Sam Hinkie was the assistant GM in Houston when the Rockets signed him.

Just do it!

I don't think Houston is serious about it. If they were serious then it should have happened already. Sixers would benefit from Asik as they get a true center. Hawes seems to be a stretch 4 even though he is listed as a 5.

HOU is biding time to see who else gets traded or waived. Young is not good value for Asik straight up.
I'm surprised they haven't reached out to ATL for Milsap.

Milsapp would be perfect but are the Hawks willing to trade him?

Hawes is no stretch 4. He's a 5.

A good 4 would destroy him.

Hate to see Young go if it happens and not really sold on Asik's sulking in Houston. That said Asik is really good defensive center and rebounder. The crazy thing is any team in the division can go from celler dweller to the top of the division by next year with one good pick. The move would almost mean Noel and Hawes at PF/C.

Dr. Pepper,

Hawes is not all that mobile on his feet but he will not do that bad on most PF's and is having a career year. Houston plays an uptempo style which Young excels at and he can be a slasher/midrange shooter/ athletic finisher/ at SF/PF. Hawes would be more pick and pop guy and not the uptempto type. Hawes could play the 4 though pluses and minus of each, but I see why Houston would want Young over Hawes.

I have seen him guard some 4's but he is a center he is not that mobile on his feet to be guarding the quicker 4's. In my head if they get Asik I feel they will not resign Hawes though. Atlanta, Lakers, Phoenix and would get first crack for his services

Yeah, he should play some where else. Philly have built and rebuild this team and he was there at the end of Iverson's tenure. The team have made a complete turn over and he seems to be the guy that remain, it's about time he leaves also.

hawes can't guard more athletic 4s

Of course not but he is a 5 for the Sixers but plays in the perimeter on offense.

Houston would seem to be a better option than Philly but maybe he loves the cheese steaks?

QUOTE(#12):

if they get asik-they'd move hawes by the deadline

Maybe so maybe not. Sixers are not taking on contracts so if they can find another 1 year guy or maybe a draft pick. Could happen but less likely as I don't see teams giving up 1st round pick.

its not them, its you!!

I like T. Young. Figure this is a win, win situation for both he and Asik. Asik gets out of Houston and T. Young moves to a contender. He can finally get a real taste of playoff basketball, look how well it's worked out for Derrick Williams. Sometimes it not the player, it's the organization.
