07:30 AM ET 12.10 | By moving Rudy Gay, Masai Ujiri has made it fairly clear that future takes precedence over present in Toronto these days. [Ujiri's] not done. Not close, really. This group is too talented to have a shot at the draft's big names, so more change will come. "I couldn't tell you where the team is going to go from here. Sometimes, you have to make change," Ujiri said. "I know the words everyone uses. There are different speculations. We're trying to figure out how we can make this team better. Whether it's now or the future, we're trying to keep that in mind." ... Kyle Lowry, expected to be the next Raptor to change his address, told the Sun on Sunday in Los Angeles that they get it. "You didn't expect it to happen this fast or this soon, but you knew or at least felt it was coming," Lowry said.

Nope the team still draws a big crowd.
The team has lots of money and is owned by the 2 largest TV providers in Canada. They need the content.

Go Mighty Raptors!

I get that teams need to be turned over or tank at times.....But at some point you need to put an NBA product out thereIt really is unfair to the fans and bad for the game for a team to be bad every year

Here's a chance for the new GM to start out fresh and move in the right direction and you still question it. Which is it? Do you want a mediocre team or a team that has a chance to compete throughout the years?

Yup! If I'm a Raptors fan I would be okay w/ these moves.

I'm shocked nobody signed Colangelo to be their GM

Raptors could have top 3 draft picks and they will still find a way to lose.

But what is the end game? They get Wiggins.......and?He's surrounded by garbage, gets frustrated, learns bad habits, team still is bad, he wants out......repeat cycle

The end game is that he is clearing up cap space so that he can have a new team next year w/ better players. It doesn't have to be about Wighins.

Are they preparing for a Bosh return? lol

If there is a way Indy can get Lowrie, that would probably make them favorites. They do need a better backup PG than CJ who is very inconsistent.

Maybe Steve Nash can retire on his land. Nash for Lowry? ;-)

QUOTE(#14):

but no one wants to go to toronto-clearing cap space is useless there.I get clearing cap space for LA, dallas, etcbut its like milwaukee clearign cap space......it useless- all you can draw there are b-c level 'stars'I get moving rudy- I really do-but can you get back at least SOMETHING that might be o the roster down the road?these 'undesirable' NBA locations need to retain ANY talent they get their hands on. It needs to be run differently than other markets

You're assuming! You have to give him a chance. The first step is to clear cap space. If you don't do that than you're stuck w/ the same old crap. He has a plan and he is following it. It doesn't happen overnight.
