07:35 AM ET 12.10 | 'Tis the season of giving, and some of the best gifts will be showered upon college football bowl participants. This year, alongside the high-end electronics, jewelry and mountain bikes in the gift suites that have become a staple at college football postseason festivities, there will be a home-theater recliner that users can plug their electronics into, as well. ... Making its gift suite debut this year will be Southern Motion's Viva, a powered home theater recliner that has two USB ports that can charge mobile devices. The Pontotoc, Miss.-based furniture manufacturer also will offer the larger McLaren, which does not plug in but features a steel base and a reinforced frame capable of accommodating even the largest offensive lineman.

And this is why most FBS CFB players said that, if they had to make a choice, they would prefer the Bowl Games over a playoff system if it was just one or the other....

I think we need another 50 bowls so every player can get some stuff. Goes right with the everyone gets a trophy mentality that seem prevalent now. There are so many bowls nowadays a team doesn't really have to be that good to qualify for one.

This is the natural consequence of playing Pop Warner.

Oh quit being a whiney-butt. :)

I have no problem with the players getting a "treat" after a long, successful season. I do think there are too many bowls, but not such a big deal.

I do think that the bowls have changed from their original concept (reward) to a must-win continuation of the season...

Ok, ok...I'll give into the material world. I'm old fashioned and need to get into the modern world.

I was just taught you play the game for the love of the game...even if you are lucky enough for it to become your vocation.

Just picking, buddy...

It's more advertising than anything else. Some of these guys are going to be making some serious money (and not all in NFL) and will be buying stuff in the future...so they get a leg up and say "Remember when Southern Motion gave us that chair? Let's go see what they got now that I'm trying to outfit my Man Cave"..

Of course I still go to WalMart for my Man Cave needs.

My one aborted year in football was Pop Warner in the early '60s. I did not see the everybody-gets-a-paticipation-award back then. I did see volunteer coaches who did not pay enough attention in strength & agility drills such that a perceptually challenged boy was not stopped from causing an incident, the results of which was my left forearm fractured in 3 places.

People watching at WallyWorld is a great way to lose weight because after about 10 minutes who on earth feels like eating anything.
