Capuano's job in serious peril

07:42 AM ET 12.10 | The Isles are taking on water -- again -- now to the tune of 10 straight losses. In the stunned silence of another road locker room, the Islanders (8-18-5) spoke of doing good things, of grabbing a lead, but they know that's not what counts. Their 2-13-2 run has put coach Jack Capuano's job in serious peril -- owner Charles Wang and general manager Garth Snow were in attendance again Monday night -- and cast serious doubt that the core of this organization is capable of leading the team to any type of success. "We have five minutes every night where we just lose it," Frans Nielsen said. "We did it at the end of the second. We've done it before." "Whatever good we did really doesn't matter anymore," Andrew MacDonald said. "We need wins, period. Nothing else matters."

His mug is actually a perfect fit for that sad sack organization.

Poor Tavares.

QUOTE(#2):

If the season finished today, Buffalo would have the best odds to receive the first AND second picks in the draft. Thanks, Garth.

They have protected top 10 pick in 2014, so at latest in 2015 Buffalo will pick 1. rounder they got from Isles.

I can't believe this turn, or downward spiral from last season.

I like Chris Capuano. Good pitcher.

QUOTE(#18):

Last season was an aberration. Division-heavy schedule, no games vs. Western opponents, and a decent playoff series made them look better than they were.Frankly, they're a much worse version of the Leafs.

I think they were better, but you forgot Fleury. Fleury makes everyone look better in the playoffs. ;)
