04:36 PM ET 12.10 | The Houston Texans are having a terrible season after entering the year with Super Bowl hopes and the losing is beginning to take its toll on the players. Texans running back Ben Tate said that the team is letting "everyone down" after their latest loss, but he also had some interesting comments that followed. Tate is set to become a free agent after the season, so when he was asked if he would like to return to the team he could have brought some relief, and happiness to the fan base. Unfortunately, he said that he isn't sure what he wants to do and it looks like he may want out.

Pretty sad state of affairs there.

dont blame him

Tate might want to refonsider because I have a sneaking suspicion Ariana Foster is gonna sign elsewhere first, meaning Tate would by default become the starting RB.

Plus Houston ia better than their record suggested and they'll probably be taking a QB with the first overall pick in the draft next year. Not to mention a brand new coaching staff, which while we don't know who that'll wind up being yet, we do know Kubiak is gone and that has to be a net positive.

Can't see why Tate would be in a hurry to bail.

****-ing Cowboys...I feel like the writing is already on the wall; the Eagles are winning the East. Dallas' defense might be the worst ever when the season's over, at least in terms of passing defense. They're easily the worst secondary in the NFL and for the first season in his career DeMarcus Ware has become an afterthought. The lack of a consistent pass rush coupled with Dallas' inept corners and safeties is a recipe for horrible, horrible outcomes. Pretty sure the Cowboys really are the worst pass defending team I've ever seen in the NFL.And next year's gonna be even worse because Dallas will be operating with like $30 million in dead money. Veterans are gonna be shown the door and the Boys will once again be forces to use way too many inexperienced rookies at key positions, just like they've done this year but worse because the cap constraints will be even tighter in 2014.Jerry Jones has forced his own hand; he refuses to acknowledge the need for a real general manager but within a year or two's time he will find himself in such a hole cap-wise that he'll have no choice but to outsourced the job to a real GM. He's been restructuring contracts every year just to get his own FA's resigned but those loopholes will all be closed at a certain point.Or at least I hope.

Overpaying his players based on production.

Not finding quality backup players.

Failing at Cap Management.

Hiring the wrong coaches.

Firing the wrong coaches.

Not letting the coaches he does hire coach the team.

What could possibly go wrong?

Unless, of course, Houston Honor's Foster's contract and carries on with the old guard.

I just have a feeling they wont. I think major changes are coming.

All brought to you by the clown GM. Must be a closet Eagles fan to torpedo a once great team like that!!

Agreed. Foster is having surgery for a disc problem and is probably at the end of his career due to injuries. New coaching staff and QB will give Tate a chance to be a top RB .

lol, to make a long story short........................WE SUCK!!!!!

December 12, 2013  10:24 AM ET

Keep in mind that we don't really know how much of Tate's success is due to Kubiak's zone blocking schemes. He probably realizes that this is his best chance for a bigger check, so he's not going to commit to any team until he sees how much the $ amount is.
