07:45 AM ET 12.11 | And away we go. FOX Sports 1 Analyst Jen Engel and FOX Sports 1 Insider Greg Couch confirmed Tuesday evening that Texas coach Mack Brown will step down by the week's end after Chip Brown of Orangebloods.com first reported the news. Which means one thing: let the Nick Saban to Texas rumors begin. After a day of Saban rumblings, TCU beat reporter Stefan Stevenson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram pushed the narrative to yet another level by tweeting this: "@FollowtheFrogs: Source close to Texas executive council of regents says Nick Saban will be next Longhorns coach." Earlier in the day, FOX Sports Southwest reported that a mischief-maker had paged Saban at the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. Tweets from multiple sources corroborated the incident.

satan knows he must change his offense and the best way to do that quickly would be a move to texas, land of the spread and hurry up offense, etc....but satan has seen his best days....he just needs to retire as well....texas will hire a harbaugh (pick em) instead.....

Kirk Herbsrteit threw Jim Harbaugh's name into the mix last night. Who knows?

OK, which one of you anti-MB Whorn fans did it? Fess up now, don't be shy.

If anything, Saban (or his agent) is playing Beamerball with the University of Alabama.

For those not in the Virginia area, Beamerball has two meanings; the off-the field context was that Frank Beamer's name would often come up for various vacancies, and shortly thereafter his contract would be extended and adjusted upward.

I believe that ploy already worked. Didn't 'Bama just now offer Saban a contract extension/raise?

Bob Stoops threw Mike Shanahan's name into the mix.

Just curious as hell, but why would Harbaugh leave the Niners to coach a college team in Texas??

How much is he making in SF? and how much would he make in ATX? Once you have those 2 numbers, you have your answer.

I've never been so proud of FJJ. I heard it damn-near started a stampede with everyone running around with their phones out trying to be the first one to get a picture of Saban in Austin.

Well played, FJJ, well played........

got a local guy that is apparently connected to TU, he called local sports radio last week and said it was all going down this week. said contract would be in the neighborhood of $8.6M a year for 10 years. new AD supposed to go to the regents with terms on Wednesday. seems like so far he's getting it pretty close. course he also claimed that the wife had been to Austin and supposedly committed to a house on Lake Travis worth $6.5M,

Little midget mini men like Saban need adulation to feed their need for acceptance. Elf sized Nick wants to be wanted and appreciated.

you suppose he'll bring the statue with him, maybe set it in the front yard?
