07:27 AM ET 12.12 | Disgruntled Rockets center Omer Asik seeks a change of scenery, and it took on another wrinkle earlier this week. [Asik] is changing agents, switching from Andy Miller to Arn Tellem of Wasserman Media Group, league sources told CBSSports.com on Tuesday. Asik's decision to change agents was first reported on Twitter by the Turkish basketball site Superbasket.org. He must submit paperwork to the National Basketball Players Association to formalize the change, and then Tellem must wait 10 days before commencing representation. Asik has been unhappy with his role in Houston since the Rockets signed Dwight Howard as a free agent this past summer. He has made a formal trade request, and Rockets GM Daryl Morey has been ramping up his efforts to trade him.

I don't get why a guy would change agents when it wasn't his agent that went out and got Howard for Houston thereby relegating him to splinter duty.

Now he has to wait 10 more days before he can get dealt. He should have changed his agent earlier.

Maybe Asik can play behind Hibbert? Trade for Granger who said he should be ready by end of this week. It'll just be a 1-year rental for the Rockets, and Indy can get another C to back up Hibbert and cut down minutes when needed.

Won't happen. He is unhappy because he is not starting. He'll be in the same situation but could be behind Mahinmi this time.

There's more to it then that man.

He probably didn't like the advice he was getting from his agent concerning requesting a trade so he decided to change agents. That or he could get a better % of his income with new agent.

Nope he wants to start and looking at the current crop of centers he is justified in wanting to start, as he could for plenty of teams. Atlanta, Philly and throw in perhaps the Lakers but that would mean Houston wants two of their players or a 1st round pick and a player

Then the best deal will be with ATL. Paul Milisap for Asik straight up.

QUOTE(#11):

Philly, Atlanta, and the Lakers sounds about right. Don't know if Phoenix can be in the mix as well.It should be a no-brainer for the Lakers to trade Pau for Asik. It's one white big man for another. The difference, of course, is that Houston gets a veteran who does not mind playing behind Howard - or next to him as a power forward - while the Lakers get someone to build with. The problem is that the current Laker front office does not even have enough brains for a "no-brainer" move like this one.

Your Curry killed my Mavs... And I hate those late games especially when the Mavs lose...

Asik want to play and Houston need bench scoring.

The numbers don't match so will Houston throw in more players? Doubt it. Besides Asik is slated to make 15 million next year. That would be highly overpaid.

Asik doesn't count 15million towards the cap though, his cap hit is lik 8.4million. So it comes down to does a team want to pay him 15million next year out of pocket

Since there is no All Star thread, I was wondering what you guys picked. My picks to start:
WC - Aldridge, Griffin, Howard, Harden, Parker
EC - James, Hibbert, Goerge, Wade, Teague

Picking the EC guards became a joke. Looking at the names listed, I didn't think anyone deserved a place at all. I picked based on performance that helped their teams chances thus far. Irving, Wall may have the numbers but their teams haven't won a whole lot. Not that ANYone has won anything in the East, it's a joke.

Nice but Aldridge won't be a starter. Fans vote for the starters in the All-Star game. And as we know fans vote for who they know and like. Not the players that should be starting.

I'm a Blazer fans and Aldridge will be lucky if he's in top 5 for western forwards. My guess is he's going to be 9th or 10th in voting in the west.
