07:27 AM ET 12.12 | Of all cities, by way of this week's Rudy Gay trade, John Salmons has landed in Toronto. Salmons almost was a Raptor in 2006, but the swingman backed out a sign-and-trade deal, saying at the time "I didn't really feel (Toronto) was where God was leading me." He signed with Sacramento instead. "It was a difficult decision for me, I had a couple options on the table, I just felt like it was a thing that I relied on my faith and I felt it wasn't the place for me at the time," Salmons said Wednesday. "Hope the fans aren't going to hold it against me. It was just something I had to do because of my faith." The new players will make their Toronto debut Friday when the Raptors (7-13) host Atlantic Division rivals Philadelphia 76ers (7-15 prior to their game Wednesday versus Minnesota).

Non-story! They don't need to because he never played for them and later turn their back on them...

I don't recall that and I doubt anyone else here does either. Please miss 40 shots a game. Thank you.

Only reason I remember it is because I met JS at the Nashville airport right around that time.

And more importantly, will the new guys help the Raps overcome the ONE GAME DEFICIT in the tight and hotly contested Atlantic Division??
