Knicks to chase Thibs

07:30 AM ET 12.12 | Ideally, if a coach is going to be fired, a franchise would do well with a backup plan. If you're into looking for potential coaches for the New York Knicks, you're advised to spend some time scouting the visitors bench Wednesday night. Because ... While there's no such thing as a safe bet in the unpredictable world of James Dolan, suggesting he'll try someday to import Tom Thibodeau from Chicago to coach the Knicks is, at the very least, in the right zip code. ... The belief here is that the Knicks' impresario, given his lack of draft and trade assets to make impactful changes to the talent, ultimately wants a superstar coach as much as he wants to re-sign Melo come July. Which is where Thibodeau comes in. Extricating Thibodeau from his Bulls contract in the coming offseason would by no means be easy.

Funny how the Knick faithful were touting Woodson as a great coach just 6 months ago. Don't worry though, you have the second worst record in a weak Eastern Conference and yet are only 2 1/2 games out of first place in what can be described as the worst division in all of pro sports.

Why is there a story about the other team every time they play in NY? Most of them are made up. Would Thibs coach NY? Does that mean that Thibs is planning of testing the coaching free agency?

Since that means we'll be stuck with Woodson all year I don't know how I feel about that..

This would be a huge change of pace and much needed attitude adjustment for the Knicks, if it were to even happen. Would thibs and his tough minded defense first mindset put up with melo?

NO way Thibodeau leaves Chi-town. Even if he did would anyone on the current Knicks roster buy in to this guys system?

Shumpert.

Going to the Knicks would be a step back in my opinion. The Knicks roster is in flux and it would take a few years to get people in that could play in his system. Unless Thibs has an extreme fallout with Chicago management he is going nowhere.

Thibs will stay in Chicago for now.

With their record you not only have a coach at fault, you have players at fault, GM at fault, etc. Woody can coach, just maybe not this team, but who can?
