07:31 AM ET 12.12 | Dave Dombrowski said Wednesday that the Tigers have not talked to the Dodgers about acquiring Matt Kemp. He also addressed rumors about not re-signing AL Cy Young winner Max Scherzer. ... [He was asked]: ESPN reported that you have told other teams that you don't think you're going to be able to sign Max to an extension this off-season. Do you want to comment on that? Dombrowski said: "That's not accurate. We've never told anybody that we wouldn't be able to sign him. I don't know if we can sign him or not. But we haven't even started that process. With the number of rumors you hear -- I was at dinner last night, and somebody texted me that we had acquired Matt Kemp. We never, ever have had a conversation with the Dodgers about Matt Kemp. We have not had any contract discussions (with Scherzer) at all at this point."

Still love this guy for the nice things he did for the poor young fan who ended up dying from cancer, but Matt has "BUYER BEWARE" written all over him.

I agree, he's just to big a risk, and deep down I believe the Dodgers don't believe he will bounce back either. I mean if they really thought he had a great chance of becoming the player he once was, then why in the world would you trade him, and pay some of his salary?

Fixed:Kemp is a no-go.

the tigers aren't going to get another hefty contract and why would they??
not to long ago the tigers traded Fielder and his hefty contract to the rangers,
about Scherzer i'm very sure the tigers will sign him for a five years contract!!

He will make some team very happy they signed him, including the Dodgers if he stays!
