Stephen Jones calls out Cowboys defense

04:38 PM ET 12.12 | While everyone is blaming the Dallas Cowboys' defensive struggles on the Cover 2 scheme of defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin, there is at least one man that is holding the players on the field accountable for not executing. Executive vice president Stephen Jones, the son of owner and general manager Jerry Jones, sounded off on the performance of the Cowboys players to ESPN and decided to call players out by name. In order to make the season, Dallas is going to need to pull out some big wins over the final stretch of the season and they won't be able to do that without stepping up their efforts on the defensive side of the ball. If not, they will be watching from home and will go down as one of the worst defenses in NFL history.

Stephen should have done this while Rob was still here.

And he might want to discuss the current GM as well.

He needs too, the GM wont do it, I really don't think its the system, I truly believe its the players, long story short, we don't have any on defense and not much more on offense

In my opinion Stephen Jones just placed the nails in the coffin and hammered in the Cowboys soon to be failed playoff season.

Headline should be: "Stephen Jones calls out Jerry Jones"

When I see the Dallas D in action it's like watching 11 chickens running around the field with their heads cut off.

The reason Kiffin plays the cover 2 defense is with how he calls the plays they can only cover 2 offensive players per play. Oh and it is also as high as he can count.Hey JJ how did his interview go ? "are yo older than me"? ok your hired.

they should have stayed with a 3-4 defense since they had the people for it, switching to this defense was a horrible idea.

I would agree but the headless chickens can tackle better and pay attention to detail better unlike our so called defense, and I use the word defense, WELL, DEFENSIVELY OR OFFENSIVELY, HOWEVER YOU WANT TO TAKE IT, IT REALLY DOESNT MATTER EITHER WAY, WE JUST SUCK PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
