Rolle headed toward cap casualty

07:27 AM ET 12.13 | The Giants, in addition to a number of impending free agents, have other major roster decisions to make this coming offseason. As they look to reshape their roster for next year, there are more than a handful of high-priced veterans who enter the equation. The Giants will have to decide which players to release, which contracts to restructure for the future. Some choices will be easy; others will be more complex. ... Antrel Rolle ... Salary: $7.25M ... Cap Figure: $9.25M ... Remaining Years: 1 ... Accelerated Dead Money if Cut: $0 ... Breakdown: This has little to do with Rolle's play. It can be argued that he's in the midst of the best season of his career. The problem is that if the Giants decide to rebuild or overhaul their systems, a 31-year-old being paid as a Top 5 safety might not make sense.

Ya don't keep guys making big bucks on a bad team. Make no mistake, it is a bad team. When your LT has given up 13 sacks alone, you got issues.

You want to see cap casualties?

Watch the Dallas Cowboys transactions from
February to March. 30 mil over the cap will do that.

How do you like the chances of a Giants upset win Sunday over Seattle? I give it a possibility. Especially if it's bitterly cold.

Yup...

Start with Jason Hatcher (FA) and work your way down.

No chance at all. Why? The Giants cannot pass block and their run blocking is not much better. Beatty at LT has given up 13 sacks on his own. The defense could play the game of their life and it would not matter....Eli has been lousy this year, but he had a lot of help getting there..

If they can't play well in the cold on Sunday at MetLife, they probably wouldn't do much better if they make it back there in February. I can imagine at least one Seahawk making a similar comment before the end of the weekend.

Really eh? I give them a fighting chance myself. It would be their Super Bowl.

They are last in the NFL in sacks. Not good for any team. The Seahawks just lost a game. They want their chippy mouthy mojo back. It could get ugly.

It is a safety mechanism. If you breathe through your nose you also smell all that nasty stuff going on around you. Your mouth? not so much. Just do not swallow.
