07:31 AM ET 12.13 | Credit Robert Griffin III for putting on a brave face. [But] it's now clear that he's more than just confused by coach Mike Shanahan's decision to pull the plug on his season. Appearing on Thursday's edition of "NFL Total Access Kickoff," NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport said that Griffin is, in fact, "extremely angry" to be shut down for health reasons. And it turns out, owner Daniel Snyder was actually "receptive" to Shanahan's idea of preserving the franchise quarterback to ensure a full offseason, NFL Media columnist Michael Silver said. The fissure between head coach and owner originated when Snyder surrendered a "king's ransom" for the opportunity to draft Griffin, Silver reported. Contrary to previous speculation, Snyder -- not Shanahan -- was the "impetus" behind the blockbuster trade.

He knew a running qb is a gimmick that doesn't last. Pocket passers is where it's at

Said it all along.....RG3 will be a bust, coming out of college he was just another QB like you know who from Florida that didn't make it in the NFL.....Maybe RG3 can join him on the street.

CAPTION: Can you hear me now Danny, you little p.o.s.?

I don't know how Snyder made his billions but he should have stayed out of football. If he ran his other companies like he does the Redskins he would have been broke long ago.

Shanahan will be back next season.

The litmus test is simple. If you would do it all again drafting RG for the price you paid knowing what you now know, would you?

I say No.

All signs point to taking Wilson with their second round pick.

Hindsight being 20-20.

Questionable even then HH. A lot to pay when you have other needs, no cap room for FA and draft picks are now cheap. We will never know, but I bet there was not 100% agreement when the decision was made.

Shanny liked Cousins from the start. Why else take him in the same draft as RG3-10? He had questions about the durability of a guy they spent a kings ransom to get. There are only a few coaches in the NFL who would really be excited at getting a running QB (smaller one at that). Most realize that with the rules set up to protect the passer in the pocket, your better off with a pocket QB who has just enough mobility to move when he has to.

I don't want to hear all you new RGIII haters on here. I had very little company two years ago with my RGIII scepticism. Half of you were calling anybody hating on RGIII a racist. I saw a guy insiders projected as an NFL WR before the hype train left the station.
