07:32 AM ET 12.13 | In a number of NBA cities, planning for the new year includes a roster move. Several sources said the Grizzlies are currently shopping power forward Zach Randolph, and two of them are hearing there's a destination and main trade piece involved: New Orleans and stretch-4 Ryan Anderson, who's averaging a team-high 21.7 points per game on 47.7 percent shooting from three-point range. "A trade centered around Randolph and Anderson should happen down the line this season," one source said. Randolph wants to stay put; he told ESPN.com last month that he would "like to retire (in Memphis)." ... But Randolph is 32 -- seven years older than Anderson -- and the Grizzlies likely don't want to pick up his expensive $16.9 million player option for 2014-15.

Good lord this Grizz team will be at the very bottom soon enough.....Hollinger really screwed them up with his analytics....They will be in the gutter very soon.

So... once again - Lionel Hollins wasn't worth resigning because?

This trade would make sense for both.

The Pelicans totally win out on this trade and it makes them an instant playoff team.

I am rooting for the Pelicans to not make that trade as it gives them some minutes for a PF while Davis is out. Pelicans are doing all they can to make the playoffs but I hope they fail lol. Pick goes to the Sixers stay in the lottery Pelicans!

QUOTE(#11):

This is the type of trade that keeps teams with future potential from ever realizing it. Ryan Anderson is a young 25 year old guy who can continue to grow with Davis in the front court. ZBo is a 33 year old heavy guy who probably is about to start showing his age. This is one of those penny wise and pound foolish type of deals.

I think the Pelicans want an inside out game and ZBo gives them the inside. Davis has become a perimeter player and is not bad shooting the ball. ZBo's contract ends next season and can also use him as a trade bait in the future. The Pelicans GM is following the Spurs way. He did come from the Spurs organization.

Pelicans are trying to get a couple more wins to get in the playoffs now. They are tired of being in the lottery and have some all-star level talent but that is the fate of the west. Davis is versatile enough to guard some of the 3's if he has too or the 5's. Pelicans don't do it no need to try to make the playoffs this year lol

This Is stupid every trade rumor that has to do with the pelicans and Anderson is bad for us but good for the opposing team. Why would we trade ryno for randolph. It makes no sense when we have AD at the 4

And this source started on bleacher report. That place is home of false rumors

Anderson name came up before for Asik hasn't heard it since. They must figure Davis can play the 3 defensively. They will lose some ability to defend though. I do think Randolph will get traded though if the Grizzlies are not in the playoff hunt. Paying too much money to two players and not be in the playoffs. This is probably their last year to get something of value out of Zack. Grizzlies need perimeter help badly. They need some shooters like yesterday. I wouldn't be surprised if there is truth in here.
