Tyreke Evans is a 6-foot-6 guard considered by many to be the top high-school senior in the country. On Tuesday, he was named to the McDonald's all-American team. On Thursday, he and his teammates from American Christian Academy here will play on ESPN2 against St. Anthony High School of Jersey City, ranked No. 1 in the USA Today poll. On Friday, Evans will take his final recruiting visit, to top-ranked Memphis. Soon, he will choose among Memphis, Louisville, Villanova, Texas and Connecticut. After one year in college, he is widely expected to jump to the NBA.

Go to Duke!!

My guess is Memphis. He's down with the Adidas camp so I can't see him straying away from an Adidas school which leaves this down to Memphis or Louisville.

Anybody who already plans to go pro after one year has only one thing on his mind, and it aint co-eds. Some rich booster will get to him and bring your program down. Oh, by the way, go to iowa, Tyreke. I know, fat chance.

Louisville, baby. Pitino will refine those skills and have Evans ready for the NBA. Plus with the Big East schedule & tourney, the folks back home will get to see him play.

If you are going for one year, come to Wake and join the rest of our 5 star recruits

This guy must be dumb as a box of rocks if he's considering Louisville. The other schools are legit, but hey why not Indiana? Look how Eric Gordon is doing. He'll be a top 5 pick for sure.

Dumb as a box of rocks for considering Louisville?? You've got to be kidding!!!!?

The adidas thing is huge. It won't be Louisville, though. Charcter, Clark, and Sosa have done nothing since they got there. Palacios is a nice talent but Petino seems to have lost his star maker touch a little.

Evans may be looking at Rose and Douglas-Roberts and saying: "yeah, that's a school for me".

It's Memphis.

February 21, 2008  04:55 PM ET

No one has said Texas, although only 1 year ago freshmen Kevin Durant turned into a superstar and was the second pick in the draft, and also the top rookie of the year candidate.

February 21, 2008  04:55 PM ET

look what texas did to kevin durant - second pick in the NBA draft. Thats got to be very tempting for evans

J-Hov, Character can't stay on the floor. He's been suspended one game this season already. His hoops IQ is nowhere near, where it needs to be and he can't stay out of foul trouble. He still needs to lose 20-25 lbs too, it'll help him in the long run as he has no explosion. Clark's too inconsistent and he needs to gain15-25 lbs. He relies on his athleticsm and doesn't play smart either. Sosa had that breakout game against A & M and hasn't been the same since choking at the FT line. He too, committs silly fouls and from what I hear, his attitude might not be in order. Palacios is the weakest of the three. He's good to bring in off the bench though. Despite all of that, plus the injury to their MVP Padgett, Pitino's got the Cards back in the rankings tied atop the Big East with the Hoyas. That's coaching, and if anyone out there can't see that, you don't know basketball.

CHO CHO CHOOOSE TEXAS. WE ARE ONE OF LIKE 6 TEAM TO GO TO THE TOURNEY EVERY YEAR FOR THE LAST 10

February 21, 2008  06:43 PM ET

Exactly, the cards are not any good and that program is going no where so why would the top recruit go there? Have you seen Freedom Hall? Have you been to Louisville,KY? Once that kid gets off the airplane he'll want to get out of there. It's ghetto. He'll probably wind up at Memphis.

Louisville has already given up on Evans. Most likely he'll end up with the hooligans at Memphis.

February 21, 2008  11:46 PM ET

So you are implying that I should know.

Actuary1, with each posting, you continue to embarrass yourself. Folks are not migrating to Indy in droves, aware of the state's racist history. Why hate on Louisville, KY? Y'all have the Jackson 5, Indy 500 and a couple of fine young ladies that I had the PLEASURE of meeting from Ft. Wayne. Focus on your state's positives and stop spewing that hate. I know the Klan originated from Indy but do your part in changing that negative stereotype.
