Abdullah still plagued by ankle pain

07:42 AM ET 12.13 | What if not for Ameer Abdullah? [Abdullah] kept coming back. Charging with reckless abandon. Churning out crucial yards for Nebraska's injury-plagued offense. He was hobbled by an ankle injury during the season's homestretch. He occasionally had to take himself out of games to regroup, such was the pain's intensity. ... Think for a moment where the Huskers (8-4) might be if Abdullah had been unable to play in the final five regular-season games, during which he averaged 117.4 yards on 24.2 carries. Maybe 7-5? Or even 6-6? Or worse? ... His ankle "is still getting better each day," said the 5-foot-9, 190-pound Abdullah, who this season rushed 254 times for a conference-best 1,568 yards (6.2 per carry). He also is third on the team with 26 receptions for 232 yards and two more TDs.

No offense COC fans/alums. Just a bit of a let-down. Been there, done that. Plus, UGA isn't a very marquee match-up given all the injuries, overall record, etc.

Bo's in a tough position. Win....ho-hum. Lose, and it's another nail in a coffin quickly taking shape (at least that's the view from the outside)

In the final analysis, I think Bo P could care less.

The Gator Bowl should have matched Minnie with Vandy and allowed UGA and Their Nebs to land wherever they may.

With the CFP committee seeding the top six bowls and the conferences striking deals that give them more input into lesser bowl match ups, these kind of poor decisions will hopefully be avoided.

Hey JS, what is Martinez's status for bowl game?

The Dawgs fans are in Jax for the WLOCP every year. Yeah, being across the boarder, it's easy for the Bulldog Nation to boogaloo on down, but, do they wanna see the Silver Britches led by the back-up QB in a rematch with COC? Meh... The GBC might have done better matching Minnie and the Dawgs (though, I think Minnie-Vandy would be a more interesting game).

Yeah, and with UGA finishing one game over .500 and 8th in the SEC power index, what does Bo have to prove?

Yeah, we beat a team closer to the bottom of the SEC than the top!! Worse yet, you LOSE to #8 of 14 in the SEC. Really helps you build political capital with you school/boosters....

the more interesting matchup would have been (IMO) Michigan/Georgia and COC /K-State
K-State was becoming a heated rivalry in the B12 when it was split North South...Travel to AZ is easier for KS & NE people, many would probably choose to drive, plus there is already a large AZ snowbird base from both state, not nearly as many winter in FL. Gator Bowl got the leftovers, BWW Bowl screwed the pooch on this one....

Hope he does. Would like to see him out there. Think he gives you guys a better chance vs. a good Georgia team that will be much more healthy than at regular season's end.

Agree, I was making the same inquiry before I get my bowl picks in. He would give them a much better chance.
