Lucic on the Olympic bubble

07:44 AM ET 12.13 | On the surface of things, Milan Lucic isn't your classic elite Olympic talent. After all there's no fighting in the Olympics, much less use for the art of intimidation on the world stage as in the NHL and far fewer chances to truck defensemen in the corner on an Olympic-sized ice surface. So there are definitely fewer areas in the Olympics where Lucic's fearsome power forward game can make as big an impact as it does in the NHL. But the Bruins power forward has nonetheless put his name into consideration for a Team Canada roster spot all the same. ... [Said Julien:] "At the end of it, you're going to look at if he fits into your top 23 or 22 players, and go from there. We have to evaluate everybody and see what they bring. At the same time, it's not always about brining top players."

I really like Lucic, but no way he can make the CDN team. No way. Skill set is not a match and there are many better scorers who are better suited to the big ice.

Would give the opposition something to think about as they lace up their skates.

never a fan, and as the article states...his game isn't suited for this stuff

Agree....most of the games will be Euro style no contact on the big ice. But then there will be those elimination games after the round robin that will become a bit more physical. Luc can score in traffic.

Reggie?

Can't see him making it. Good player, every team in the NHL would grab him in a heart beat, but Olympic hockey isn't NHL hockey.

Lucic is having a good year but he always quits at some point. Usually doesn't show up until it really matters. Might find him inspired to play well, but his natural skill set lacks. He's too big a gamble.

"Lucic on the Olympic bubble"

Don't know whose bubble Lucic is on but, that kid Luke Gazdik sure gave him the business last night. Almost a KO. Well ... have a look ...

Maybe they can use him to scare little kids away who are trying to get autographs.

Some solid punches for sure, the kid looked wore out though. Lucic barely breathing hard:)

Cracked knuckles from hitting Gazdik's helmet. Cracked lips from eating Gazdik's knuckles. That doesn't happen too often to Lucic. The kid won the decision.

Kid got some good shots in. Looked like he wobbled Lucic.
