04:13 PM ET 12.13 | Texas A&M Aggies quarterback Johnny Manziel is one step closer to saying "show me the money" to the NFL. According to reports that surfaced Thursday night, the Aggies star will be making the decision that everyone has expected and declare for the 2014 NFL Draft. The report states that Manziel is set to sign with Select Sports Group in Houston, which would cause him to forfeit his remaining college eligibility.

I hope that he inks the deal with an agent prior to the Bowl game, it is confirmed, and he's not allowed to play.

If RG III cant make it in the pros this kid doesn't stand a chance.

But that would be bad for TV ratings, I'm sure they would bend the rule one time for Johnny.

Ineligible is ineligible. A Duke victory would be the story of the season.

I think you've hit on a good point, Van. Just how well does the HUNH spread offense translate into the NFL style of play? When we consider the enormous expense pro teams go to in acquiring a RG III, does it make sense to constantly put him in an elevated state of risk with a CFB offense versus the efficient brutality of a typical NFL defense?

Again, "will sign" does not equal "has signed." Darren Heitner is no "reliable source."
