Big 12 investigating OU, Baylor

Posted: Thursday February 21, 2008 06:44AM ET

Big 12 officials are examining video from Wednesday's Baylor-Oklahoma basketball game to determine if any penalties need to be assessed after a second-half sequence led to three ejections, league spokesman Bob Burda said. With about five minutes remaining in regulation, Baylor's Mark Shepherd and OU's Blake Griffin got tangled while going for a loose ball. Griffin appeared to have his arm around Shepherd's neck. When Shepherd got up, he swung an elbow and hit Griffin's face. That prompted coaches and some players to leave their benches as tempers escalated. Shepherd was assessed a flagrant foul and ejected from the game. Baylor senior Richard Hurd and OU strength coach Darby Rich were ejected for leaving their benches. Griffin was also given a technical foul for slamming the ball.

Arm around neck ... ? Elbow to the face ... ? What, did they think they were playing in the Big East circa 1993?

Nice......strength coach charging into the melee. Any coach who joins in should be suspended. This will be interesting.
