08:08 AM ET 12.14 | Los Angeles Lakers forward Pau Gasol has made it clear in recent days that he still isn't comfortable with his role in coach Mike D'Antoni's offense. But D'Antoni says he's heard it all before, and to him it's getting old. "The biggest thing is, everybody, to a man, we've just got to play harder and worry about things less," D'Antoni said after the team's morning shootaround in advance of Friday night's game against the Oklahoma City Thunder. "Hopefully we do that tonight." Asked specifically about Gasol's desire to be used more in the post, where he feels most comfortable and effective, D'Antoni said, "That's one thing. If they just don't want to do it that way, then you have to accept it or not. But there's no reason to not play hard."

Mike tried that with Melo and Armare and it didn't work!!!

Pau Gasoft doesn't get playing hard.....

Just like Mike D'Antoni doesn't get coaching the Lakers....

Its about time for the lakers to trade Gasoft.....I mean he just doesnt fit in there anymore and why not start to rebuild....That team is a one and done team if that....

Gasol is forced to take 3's and spread the floor like he's Chris bosh, gasol is right and joins the many of us who've already bashed dumbtoni. Use the 7 foot center in the paint ffs, it's not rocket science.

Good point and it won't work with Pau. Exect Gasol to be traded in the near future.

D'Antoni is either clueless about using Post players or the Lakers are purposely keeping Pau's scoring down so they hurt his value.

MMA, I agree with you that D'Antoni is not the right coach for the Lakers, but IMO Pau is history. He will be traded shortly. For whom, I don't know? Gasol still has some value, but not with the Lakers.

Does DA got the balls to also ask KoMe to "play harder and smarter"? I doubt that!

Everything adds up. Last year it was Dwight. This year is Pau. You got players who wants to play the post but you've got a coach who knows nothing about the post. These post players are invisible for the Lakers. How are post up big men suppose to play hard when they won't even get any touches? That's deflating for these players.

I know! The fanatics will always disagree w/ what I write. Just as long as Kobe gets most of the touches than the Lakers are fine. Winning doesn't matter to these diehard Kobe fanatics... Smh, lol, and my goodness!

In fairness, Kobe always gives 100% effort. That can't be denied.

He will. D'Antoni's response showed he pretty much doesn't value Gasol.

And who would be stupid enough to want him?

Expiring contracts have value. And as "badly as he has played", he's averaging close to a double-double.

Memphis to play with his brother.

You have to feed the big men to keep them engaged.

Obviously correct since they don't touch the ball unless they are rebounding it or posting up and the guard feeds them the ball. They don't need Bynum to score 20 every night to win. Take what the defense gives you. The Cavs are starting to play how I figured they would and are still going to win 45 and get the 5th seed in the EC. The Knicks meanwhile are going to struggle to even get to the playoffs. The Lakers are lottery bound.

Memphis does not want his 20 million dollar contract. If he goes there, which I highly doubt, the Lakers will have to agree to pay half his salary. Plus, teams looking for "expiring" contracts are likely also looking to get into the lottery because of all the quality players coming out this year so Pau is still good enough to mess up those plans. Gasol is stuck with LA.

Uh...Probably about 25 other teams in the NBA....
