08:18 AM ET 12.14 | Nick Saban isn't coming to Texas. Mack Brown may or may not be staying. After the team's football banquet and following a long-anticipated meeting involving Brown, school president Bill Powers and athletic director Steve Patterson on Friday, the Texas coaching saga remains unresolved going into the weekend. The biggest news at the banquet didn't come at the podium Friday evening or even on the floor of the Erwin Center afterward, but from countless smart phones throughout the room. ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit tweeted that Saban had reached an agreement to remain at Alabama. The university confirmed the report minutes later. "We are excited about the future and the University of Alabama is where I plan to end my coaching career," Saban said in a statement.

...And LF laughs all the way to the bank anyway. So how much did the Gumps shell out for the Saban Sweepstakes after all, TF?

...And a Top o' the Evening to you.

No biggie, lots of options, there's still harbaugh, Tomlin, Gruden, Belichick, Ditka

Between 7 and 7.5 million a tear, but wouldn't anyone say it was worth it? Since he started coaching at Alabama our revenues have more than doubled.

I'm kind of with tidefan. What are the Sabans going to do with all those houses they bought in Texas?

But, no, Texas is handling this situation perfectly. The controversy that people are claiming is just media driven and we're all lemmings.

Upwards of 7 Million a year, and money well spent, he deserves it.

Yes she did. They played their hand very well. I just think we could have done without the comment she made about Bama Fans not Appreciating CNS.

Got to go for a bit will be back later.

Yesterday morning ESPN was claiming that Texas upped the ante, offering Saban money to bail him out of the Beltway 8 bankruptcy mess, then ESPN reported that Alabama countered that offer, giving Saban half ownership in a Mercedez Benz dealership.

It was ridiculous. If you believe it you're a lemming.

There's no way any of that happened. Negotiations would have never begun until a position was available and it still not available. Yet. fingers crossed.

You and me both. Did not want. Texas shooting themselves in the foot. Think Macky Mack goes through the blowout in the bowl game and then something happens.

Very reasonable scenario: bowl followed by flush.
