05:41 PM ET 12.16 | Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant left the game early against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday. The Cowboys had a 23-point lead disappear in the loss and Bryant left the game early to head to the locker room. Bryant tweeted about it last night, but he elaborated during an appearance a local hospital. Bryant apologized for his actions, while saying that his emotions got the best of him. Bryant left the field so that people would not see him crying about the loss. If Bryant finds himself in this decision ever again, perhaps he should simply throw a towel over his head.

I've had it with Tony. This is a deep QB draft and some real talent will be available in 2nd/3rd round. If Jerry passes up the opportunity then Dez should just focus on 2015 when his rookie contract expires.

I dunno, I just don't buy it.

He took a page from the Randy Moss School of Proper WR Etiquette.

Too easy.

Emotional...

That's the same excuse he had for blowing up on Tony Romo on the sidelines a few weeks back.

umm,......this ''baby'' needs a lil' [locker-room] therapy,.........a good ol' fashioned beat-down by hiz peers....!

December 17, 2013  07:31 AM ET

Man up, Dez.

December 17, 2013  08:04 AM ET

All I will say about this situation is the following... If a few more players on the Cowboys exhibited the same level of emotion as Dez then maybe this damn team wouldn't be 7-7.

I second that. The whining to the officials after every pass play isnt much better.

Cowboys like to throw a little too much to trust a 2nd or 3rd round rookie. I think I'd rather go with romo.

This is the reason they don't win, no discipline, fine the guy 100k. You're system is not working Jerry!

hear hear OBD, wouldn't it be nice if a few more members gave a damn.

December 17, 2013  09:08 AM ET

Dez is to self egoed.......spoiled kid - that needs to grow a pair and act like a man, earlier in the yr. he's ranten and screaming at his teammates on the sideline ,now he quites on them and leaves the field before the games over, just like a little kid who lost his ball to the bully.

December 17, 2013  09:13 AM ET

Bums, that's what these guys are, bums! Romo is a heart breaker, Bryant is a prima-donna and Garrett is on the way out the door! Here's the real question, whose going to be the next coach of America's team? Who wants to be Jerry Jones next yes man? Why......is that Lane Kiffin I hear knocking at the door?

Don't listen to them lil Dez, u have all postseason to cry. America's Team will be home watching the playoff drama unfold once again. Great job Jerrah.

"Bryant left the field so that people would not see him crying about the loss." That's bull. The correct behavior for sideline criers is put a towel over your head. Oh I get it. Special rules for Dez.

December 17, 2013  09:32 AM ET

It is getting to be a regular thing, though, isn't it? They should just have a pegboard over the press conference podium, with the words "Dez just let his emotions get the better of him" and peg holes for each week of the season.

I agree. The Cowboys look like they just don't care. I don't buy the crying bit though. I think Bryant was about a breath away from smacking someone. He should have stayed on the field and controlled his emotions. He still hasn't matured.

If he were playing for Jeff Fisher he would not be playing against Washington and maybe not for the rest of the season. Fisher did it to Vince Young and look what happened to Vince Youngs career. I don't know which team he is holding a clipboard for , or if he is even in the NFL .

Yes he is a spoiled prima donna who runs away from adversity.

FYI Vince Young is sitting at home hoping his phone will ring.
