07:40 AM ET 12.17 | In the case of Ed Cooley, losing has become winning -- and, no, he's not sick. He's healthy, very healthy, but the road in his transformation from a stressed, overweight 44-year-old to a still very stressed but dramatically slimmed down Big East coach wasn't easy. "I want to tell this story to help other people who could be paralyzed the way I was paralyzed," he says, "because it's the best thing I've ever done. It's the toughest thing I've ever done, but I'm as healthy as I've ever been. I'm as focused as I've ever been. I'm focused on my health." ... In five months he's lost a shade over 100 pounds. He's shedding clothes by the week as his waist shrinks from a 50 to a 38. There is no end goal but he says he'd love to get down to his playing weight at Stonehill of about 225.

Great story, hope he keeps it going, and keeps getting his story out. Kudos to him.
