07:41 AM ET 12.17 | In both words and actions, it seems likely Kevin Sumlin will remain in College Station for at least another few years. Texas A&M released [Sumlin's] full contract to SportsDay on Monday, and it confirms just how commited the school is to the second-year coach. The deal, announced first Nov. 30 when agreement was reached in principle, and in more detail Thursday after it was finalized, is for $5 million annually for six years. ... For his part, Sumlin has a $5 million buyout, up from $2 million, if he chooses to leave before the end of the 2016 season and bowl game, as has been reported, and it is due within 60 days of his resignation. But after the next three seasons are completed, no damages from Sumlin are included in the contract if he were to take another job in the college ranks or the NFL.

Smart guy. Cashed in with his current employer for more money than someone who has never won anything has realistically earned. coaches salaries are headed to where MLB salaries went. .250 light hitting 2nd baseman earning $10 million, .500 pitchers getting $15 million. crazy stuff.

TOTALLY agree. And don't give me any of that "inflation is hell" crap, either. Not buying it.

Well to be fair. 9-4 at ATM gets you a raise. 9-4 in Austin gets you fired.

Anyone want to take bets on if he finishes out that contract.

which bowl did they commit to in 2016?

I don't think he will. Soon as that buyout hits $0, I think he's headed to the NFL.
