07:30 AM ET 12.18 | Might first baseman Ike Davis finally have that long anticipated new baseball home? The Pirates spoke to the Mets about trading for [Davis], a source told the Tribune-Review on Tuesday. Davis is a left-handed hitter who has shown a blend of power and on-base skills throughout his career. If acquired, he would presumably platoon with Gaby Sanchez at first base. ... Pirates general manager Neal Huntington acknowledged Saturday that the Pirates were interested in James Loney, a left-handed first baseman, who signed with Tampa Bay last week. Davis struggled mightily in the first half of 2013 and was sent down to Triple-A. But after returning to the majors, he led the National League with a .449 on-base percentage in the second half of the season.

Why give up a prospect, Davis is arbritratation eligible, the Mets will not give him 3-5 Mil!

With the addition of Fielder in Texas Moreland would be a cheaper fit for the Bucs.

Davis is worth a shot. Maybe a getting out of New York's fish bowl will allow him to focus and put his game together.

Mets must be jumping for joy to unload Ike Davis, even if they get some decent minor league prospects. I see Pitts. if they land Davis, platooning him with sanchez at first

Someone will give a prospect or two. Why not the Bucs?

why not taking the risk?either Davis plays well or collapse any time in the 2014 season, after all it won't be the mets problem!!

Bucs are hoping that Andrew Lambo can transition to first base. They have him in the Venezuela league trying to better learn the position.

With Lambo a possible option the Bucs should only acquire Davis if the price is right (very small in their case)!

Take your anger out on The Mets Management, not the players on The Board!!!
